Hi, I'm Cathryn. After working full-time as a senior children's book designer for Penguin for many years, I made the exciting decision to go freelance and collaborate with other major publishing houses and pursue my love of illustration. I have a BA in Illustration from the University of Westminster influenced by the wonder of childhood and nature. I can work in or out-of-house, from conceptualisation to repro-ready files for a variety of formats.
Fun facts about me: I love cats... and turtles... and Greece... and Cornwall and surfing. I have a deep appreciation for nature. I share my life with my wonderful husband and our two amazing young adults.
I've snagged some awards for my art work for Nature in Art, and some of the books I have designed have won or been nominated for book awards. (I Love This Tree by Anna Claybourne and How We Catch A Cold by Leon Read) Plus, I'm RHS qualified and have a passion for horticulture. And, I like to embrace my inner kid!
Nice things people have said about me ...
